Swimming is banned along the Toti/Warners/Winkle/ beaches. Too much sewerage in the ocean. Surfers say at backline they can smell ****. There are multiple sewerage leakes from burst pipes arond neighborhoods spilling over into every river from Isipino to Illovo. A huge burst Sewerage pipe next to Kingsway High School in Toti has been pumping out **** into the canal, along the highway and then into Toti river for 6 months now. Why? eThekwini does not have the skills to fix it. Apparently it requires some engineering intervention whuch they don't have and cannot employ previously advantaged to fix it so the **** keeps flowing. For real.

Yip, golden mile too afaik (it's been a while since I've been to the beach), umgeni river by blue lagoon and umbilo rivers. It's all the water treatment plants that got trashed in the floods so sewerage just flows straight into the rivers.
