Think it had more to do with minimizing domestic unrest.

"Special (and limited) operation to liberate Ukrainians from Nazis" is a lot harder to protest against than "We will kill our Ukrainian brothers and sisters, for no good reason".

Putin writes the law in Russia. He's not afraid of it, he wields it as a weapon.

Sounds like you are agreeing with me, he uses the legal framework as a backing for what he wants to do and doesnt just dismiss it out of hand.

We all know its a show trial but that is besides the point.

Don't worry, the TEC (Taliban Electoral Commission) will take care of everything. They are true professionals. The only reason the UN doesn't recognize them is because they are jealous of their manly beards and ability to sleep on stage during press conferences.

Future collapse of RU

Russian leadership transfers 25 bln dollars to Turkey, preparing for the internal collapse of Russia. Similar actions took place in 1917 and 1991.

This is one of the rare occasions that I actually agree with Putin. The Ukrainians have had great success with all the weapons they captured from Russia:

It is pretty amazing how just a few months ago everyone thought the tank was dead in modern warfare but it turns out Russia just sucks, because the Ukrainians are having loads of success with those exact same tanks (literally).

Russian getting desperate.

In country with around 150 million they outsource their combatants to poor areas, prisoners and now this.
