There are a lot of russians in st petersberg I see still using instagram including some south africans there I also know. I am genuinely surprised that she is getting arrested for using the app. Just like the tweet said there is an abundance of people still using the app in russia. She was probably just a victim of the bureaucratic system or someone really disliked her and reported her to the police.

Do any of the Russian simps and those who punted the likes of Mearsheimer, Chomsky and so forth feel undone by their Russian brothers?

They stated vehemently that Russia was not out to annex any further territory.

And here we are, as predicted, Russia is rushing to formally annex the territory gained to date.

I think it is to scare people to not use VPN services.
Get a "high profile" person and make a public example of them.
The intention behind the scenes is to stop people learning more of what is happening in the war, seeing as general mobilization is upon them. Keep the lid on things for a short while still.

The iron curtain descends indeed. Those who got used to the western way of life will soon themselves having to "be happy" with soviet era lives. Hopefully the pressure cooker will blow soon and a new russian revolution is imminent. That is my hope.

Wait a minute. Isn't Putin's announcement the same time as the UN general assembly? Last time that happened was in February.
