Biden is going to supply systems from Russia?

I was poking fun at the journalism.
View attachment 1398243

It's a weird typo as the article says it correctly.

U.S. President Joe Biden pledged to Ukraine President Volodomyr Zelenskiy on Monday that the United States will provide Ukraine with advanced air systems after a devastating missile barrage from Russia.

Biden spoke by phone with Zelenskiy to give assurances about continued U.S. support and to condemn the "senseless attacks" from Russia that hit civilian targets.

"President Biden pledged to continue providing Ukraine with the support needed to defend itself, including advanced air defense systems," a White House statement on the phone call said.

Could be a Special Forces attack too. Long gone by the time it went bang. SA Special Forces did this often in Angola during the 80's. The Giraul River bridge near Namibe (Mossamedes) comes to mind and the Luba Pass bridges near Lubango. The bridges were major transport infrastructure and thick concrete. Both were used to supply the southern front with military supplies in Angola.

The Giraul bridge was downed by Special Forces that were infiltrated and exfiltrated by submarine and the Luba bridges by Special Forces that were dropped by air and walked to their target.

The Catembula bridges were recced for demolition but the operation never took place.
So it wasn't a rocket like we could hear in that one video clip?

We Survived The Last Nuclear Standoff Through Compromise And De-Escalation
Back in 2013 The Atlantic published a solid article titled "The Real Cuban Missile Crisis," subtitled "Everything you think you know about those 13 days is wrong." Its author Benjamin Schwartz details how the crisis was peacefully resolved not because JFK was on the phone yelling "Try and die" at Nikita Khrushchev, but because he secretly cut a deal to remove the Jupiter missiles the US had stationed in Italy and Turkey which provoked the 1962 incident in the first place.
Detente used to be a household term. It was a routine subject of mainstream political discourse; mainstream politicians were expected to have a clear and articulate position on the diplomatic easing of tensions with the USSR. Now people don't even know detente is a thing. I say that word to people and it's clearly the first time they've ever encountered it, and the concept itself is completely alien to them. People I talk to tend to believe the only options on the table are either (A) continuing to escalate this insane game of nuclear chicken with Russia, or (B) giving Putin everything he wants. They're completely unaware that a third option of negotiation, compromise and de-escalation exists, much less that it has historically been viable and successful.

Just noticed UN meeting is live now. Russia speaking now.

I was watching.
As usual the Russian representative's statements impressed...

...It impressed upon me the ****ing absolute imperative to point out that Russia is the enemy of the world's peace, prosperity and above all - The greatest waste of the world's precious Time!

I really got the feeling that everyone in that room just wanted to slap that Russian fool.

Of course, the reasons of denazification and Russian soldiers being greeted as heroes by Ukrainians has been shown up for the BS that they were

Why would the average Russian choose to fight in Ukraine, why would anyone risk their life for territory that belongs to another sovereign nation, just to satisfy Putin's warmongering?

But if you make it about "fighting for the motherland", about an existential threat being fought by the West who hate all Russians then you make it about a fight for the very survival of Russia. The propaganda has clearly worked in some cases, but not so much in others with people fleeing to other countries.

I don't blame the average Russian for believing this propaganda, they live in an authoritarian society, I do blame someone like you, living in a free society, for perpetuating the myth that Westerners hate Russians. No one had strong feelings about Russia and Russians before they invaded Ukraine, bullies don't get to complain about being disliked if they act like bullies.

If Russia tries to go through Poland to reach Kaliningrad then they will face the whole of NATO.
They already are facing most of NATO. Just not the full airforce. I highly doubt Western countries have the apatite to see their airplanes be blown out of the sky.
