I support the will of the people in gaining independence and self-determination from oppressors. If the majority in the areas in question want to join Russia after being persecuted for years, then it's reasonable that Russia would assist.

The West certainly wouldn't. And very little is known in the West about these areas, post the Maidan Coup. We know why.

Ironic how, using PR and deceit to gain our support, it's no problem for the West meddling in countries who do not want them there.
You post all of that like it is established fact.
Meanwhile the basis for your whole argument is just BS

It is really interesting how the tone of those russian state tv shows are changing compared to march:

I don't buy the crocodile tears. Most likely trying to provide some kind of plausible deniability to Poostain. Make people sympathetic.
Meanwhile he knows his system. If observers from the outside could predict it, then he definitely knew exactly what would happen.
That or admit his incompetence and negligence.

I think it is part of the theatrics. They had a contingency scripts for when stuff went right and contingency scripts for when stuff went down. Like you said, they already planned this although they are trying to make this look natural.

So why did you have to put a kick in while a man was down then?
You don't get to pick and choose what I find funny or not. Based on your commentary with others including myself which I am now parroting, you would know this.

I am sorry your ego was bruised. Remember, they go away and we come back stronger.

You really want to go and have a look at what a Nuclear Winter actually means.

Hint, it's a global event...
A model was recently done (Aug 2022). Quite a fascinating video.

98% of the Northern Hemisphere population would die of starvation.

Southern hemisphere though would fair a lot better it seems, so looks like SA might be a good place to visit ...

However this of course does not account for the mass of migration from the Northern parts of Africa south and how that may de-stabilise areas.

I'm holding a referendum in your neighborhood to take over your house and yard. It's all legit and above board though, my close and totally reliable friends are overseeing the while thing so don't stress. It's geopolitics. You get it. Start packing.

Disclaimer: Not a threat in any way. Just an example. I don't want your house anyway I have a nice one already and very happy with what I have.
My neighbours like my house and I never hurt any of them in/from it. I would happily help them get a house like mine.

Exactly. We will not be secure as well.
It will be lord of the rings on a massive scale.
Law and order will disintegrate.

It would basically be a mass extinction event for humanity.
I guess only those with enough wealth to have built a secure hide-away somewhere out of reach or sociopaths would survive.

The rest of us will be killed off for whatever we have and there will be those that will fall under the "protection" of war lords, but will be used for degrading jobs and will be constantly abused.

It will be the end of civilization at best. End of humanity at worst because few would be able to sustain themselves, and those that have the knowledge would be overrun by hungry hordes. There will be no shop to guy buy bullets to protect yourself. You will run out eventually and then it is game over. Besides. Who would be able to work in a field where you can be taken out by someone with a rifle from the edge of the field?

Looking at the particulate distribution maybe, but they show the projected changes in temperature too at one point - If temperatures are reduced that much on average, then it won't matter if it's initially more pronounced in the North and less in the South - If such conditions prevail even for a few weeks then I doubt the end result will be anything other than a new so called "Snowball Earth" era. In very short order. The thing is that mean temperature changes do not work like people tend to think. We're talking day and night 365days a year. A -2.5C mean temperature for Southern Africa (-10 for a large area just a tiny bit north of us - Namibia... Angola) is nothing to simply dismiss. Our mean annual temperature is 17.5C, and we still get 40C days. That cool spot over Namibia and Angola will see a new mean annual temperature similar to what Germany currently has...

In any case if the Northern Hemisphere temperatures are impacted that much, then permanent land and sea ice (reflective cooling effect) will spread to such a degree there that the global atmospheric energy budget is impacted for millions of years to come.
And what will happen to oceanic currents, even in the short term, is anybody's guess.

We're talking big huge changes. Globally.
