That is a very mature response. Thank you.

I know that some people get their jollies to interact with these people. But that is simply more trolling in my view.
And for that I believe there is another Off Topic forum thread where they can engage in that.
But it does appear as if these "on the right side" people are actually also craving an audience and re-assurance from others.

But this (above) is also trolling behavior. One group trolls, the other group trolls back.

Eventually it is a troll vs troll thread. One side I agree with, one I disagree with, but it is still trolling.

And the main point is that the trolls crave the exposure. And if you feed them they get MORE exposure.
People think they are debunking them, but that is not really the point of trolling. Trolling is to get a response, and then to keep on engaging in nonsense responses, thereby distracting from the issues at hand.

The only ones winning really is those that want to sow confusion and then make people doubt their reality (gaslight). Only the trolls win.

So thank you for reflecting on it.

There are members on here who does post valuable info, but eventually the junk responses to the junk troll posts just makes one put them too on ignore. Again, the trolls win.

You do have a few very valid points here and as you said there are members that post valuable info but also seriously over-engage when they know it's pointless.

Its getting into the evening so I'll sleep on it but yea just one "good guy" ban would save my mouse wheel plenty of lifespan.

But that is what Riettie was saying.

Now maybe there is an exception to that rule, as if you kill every living thing when you march through an area, there isn't going to be resistance.
Point I am making is they held territory without local support and would have even without the capitulation of the respective governments, because they had won militarily.

The Dutch had absolutely zero military response to the Nazis. Had they refused to negotiate etc, the Nazis would still habe held that territory.

Exactly.

Nr. 1 thing is don't ask them questions. Don't ask them to explain their retarded theories.

If you do want to engage then don't engage with their narrative (cause you know it's a farce), but rather with them directly, by calling them trolls, laughing at them and telling them to F off. Preferably by meme or humorous ridicule.

The goal here is not to elicit a response, but to remind them that they aren't fooling anyone with their crap. To remind them that they have been exposed for who they are and their time here is being wasted, as they won't be getting paid when their Kremlin botmaster sees that instead of "disrupting western ideas", they are being laughed out of the room.

That way we at least get some entertainment at the Russian trolls expense, rather than getting frustrated that no matter how much logic you "expose" their BS with, there is always more BS.

We all know they are turds. Just call them turds, laugh at them and kick them to the curb. Stop trying to polish them.

And if that gets boring, the ignore button is still there.

Russia controls the tap on the other side, it has no reason whatsoever to sabotage it's own pipeline

USA fahking around again, just like the 2014 coup
Also quite reasonable that Russia did so as a false flag operation to generate divisive public opinion in the EU over the USA.

Which serves Russias strategic interests. In this scenario Russia are not the bad guy - "We would have opened the tap, but the CIA have blown up the pipe so blame them instead for your cold house"

Why is there so much pressure in that pipe?

There's only one answer: Russia is pumping gas into it.

This is just orc trolling at the chieftain level.

They're basically saying "HAHAHA look Europe, rather than letting you have any gas we are throwing it in the ocean! HAHAHA"

Remember that gas would be lighter than water.

So as long as gas inside the pipe (whatever there was) is being displaced by water, the venting would keep on happening.

Not sure if there are automatic shutdown/block valves every x kilometers, but those are expensive to install initially and if there aren't that many, then there is still a heck of a lot of gas which can be displaced by water inside the pipes.

I am guilty of this.

In a way I do feel that sometimes it is necessary to engage, to shine a light on their beliefs, to push them to inadvertently expose their true beliefs, as many of them hide behind a faux neutrality facade.

An example was how I had NarrowBand claim that a country joining NATO meant that NATO had annexed them, in the same way Russia had annexed Crimea etc. It showed how biased and warped his world view is. I feel had we ignored his statements, we would have missed that insight into how his bias drives his posts.

However, I take your point and agree. I will ignore the more belligerent trolls, with their overt attempts to sow discord and bedlam in these forums.

Thanks for giving me cause, to pause for some reflection.

Putin wants Ukraine. He stated so himself. NATO wants Ukraine. They too stated so a few times. Putin invades to stop this. That's it. Simple, straightforward and clean cut.

But some have to inject a straight forward thing with their own drivel and biases and basic bullsittery. For whatever reason who knows.

They have beliefs that tumble like a house of cards if one thing gets disproven. They need a narrative to be harmonious with their other narratives. So they stick to cognitive dissonance no matter how ridiculous it gets. We saw how weird moskova sinking was for them and how they denied it at first until they could not deny it anymore.

He knows Russia is being imperialist.

He needs to downplay it and create a false equivalence, so he can whatabout and falsely claim everyone else is being hypocritical.

Cognitive dissonance on display. It is how he processes it.

Quick google tells me the pipe has an internal diameter of 1.1m and the length is 1200km so about 1 million cubic meters in volume...

Gas bubbles rise in water at around 1km/hour, so if total gas at a horizontal cross-section of the combined leaks is a 10 x 10 meter area it should take 10 hours to fill the pipe with water.

If the area of gas is only 2m x 2m then it would take about 10 days.

Hard to make an estimate based on those videos but it definitely looks like more than 2 by 2 meters of gas bubbling up...
