The Dutch Navy actually shoots at ships to disable them in the Caribbean for refusing to stop before searching for illicit cargo that engage appears to think has to be found before seizure.

Does the US have Russia's permission to seize the yacht in international waters and on what grounds? Did someone photoshop some pirate eye patches onto the crew, is there a bounty of drugs heading to the US onboard, some Russian electronics for the black market? Major Fake News didn't read his own link otherwise he would have noticed that the seizures were not in international waters, but when the ships transited through other countries' waters or when the ships were declared stateless by the countries they were registered in.
