Lavrov visits South Africa in trip condemned as insensitive

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is in South Africa to hold talks with his counterpart in Pretoria.
The South African government said talks with Naledi Pandor are routine, but opposition parties have condemned the visit as insensitive.
Pandor has insisted that South Africa will not be dragged into taking sides in the war and has criticised the West for its selective condemnation of Russia, while ignoring other acts of aggression such as the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory.
The South African military is set to host a joint military exercise with Russia and China on February 17 to 27 – coinciding with the anniversary of the conflict.

Don't see what's Russia's problem with that, the military gear will move to the front and the air defence systems are often found at nuclear facilities...are they crying that it's unfair not being able to destroy them?

Russia accuses Ukraine of storing Western arms at nuclear sites

Russia’s foreign intelligence service has accused Ukraine of storing Western-supplied arms at nuclear power stations.
The agency said in a statement that US-supplied HIMARS rocket launchers, air defence systems and artillery ammunition had been delivered to the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant in the northwestern city of Varash.
“The Ukrainian armed forces are storing weapons and ammunition provided by the West on the territory of nuclear power plants,” the agency said, adding that an arms shipment to the Rivne power station had taken place in the last week of December.

What...
Show me anywhere I posted where that is even remotely true. I just do not believe the simplified curated pro western narrative, and want people to question it.
Understanding Russia's action is far removed from jubilant support for death, on any side.

I repeat. You okes have zero principles or honesty. You will post links from legacy media as 'fact', yet are too lazy to watch, read or listen to anything that negates your narratives or clarifies context.
At this stage you are so deep into your support of Russia, you have become blind to the atrocities they commit.

30 000 civilians killed by Russia.

It's not a good idea to be sure, and not something the international community appreciates, but the hypocrisy of Russia pointing their finger at another country doing it... That's just typical I suppose. They are always eager to validate their own wrong doing by finding an example of anybody on the other side doing anything even slightly similar. (and hint... it never, ever does - Even if true the words "they also" as an excuse = the words "just as bad" - good or bad it goes both ways)

I would take the accusation with a grain of salt as well. Very little truth comes out of the Kremlin.

In the final moral analysis it's not even equivalent. It's:
-Ukraine storing weapons in their own nuclear power stations
vs
- Russia storing weapons in other people's nuclear power stations, which they have occupied through force

Russia is effectively pointing their finger at a lesser evil, and in the process painting themselves in a worse light.

I've said from the start. The term neutral doesn't really apply in this conflict. Not with Russia's conduct. You either oppose such barbarism, or you condone/ignore it. And just ignoring it is not admirable. At all.
And holding naval military exercises with a country at war is also "neutral". Did Switzerland take part in military exercises with axis/allied forces during WW2? No. For this to be "neutral" SA will need to hold similar exercises with a NATO country.

The SA government is just allied with and supportive of the Kremlin and too afraid to say it.

It's not hypocrisy, they are simply controlling the story for their audience.

It's propaganda.

Should we be like Charles Lindbergh? Who on this day in 1941, urged the US to be neutral on Germany.

Upon Lindbergh’s return to the States, he agitated for neutrality with Germany, and testified before Congress in opposition to the Lend-Lease policy, which offered cash and military aid to countries friendly to the United States in their war effort against the Axis powers.

People who urge for neutrality and push for it ... Only serve the oppressor and their propaganda machine.

You mean similarly when everybody was screaming that Russia is storing weapons near ZNPP? How was that dangerous and unacceptable but when Ukraine does it then it is par for the course? A little hypocritical don't you think?
