There was an extensive documentary series some years ago on the History channel on the fight against ISIS and the volunteers, both combative and medics, and Pete was well featured in it.
It was titled Hunting ISIS.

Never said it was a good idea but it is possible and what stops you from firing 50 cal rounds at a MBT as you are running away from it. If you are lucky you can get a mission kill by shattering optics or windows or even a penetration

The gun weighs nearly forty kilograms. The barrel alone is twelve. There’s no reasonable way to carry it unless you’re lugging it a short distance to the vehicle you’re planning to mount it on… preferably two of you.

I’m not saying it can’t be fired standing… I know of at least one occasion where one was, but it was a two man job and it was an absolute clown show.

The answer to your ‘what stops you’ question is the Browning 50. Cal itself.

A belt fed 50 cal is vehicle mounted for a very good reason. I would love to see you run with a 50 cal that weighs almost 40kg. Now add the weight of an ammo belt and tripod.

And how are you going to fire it standing when you need to hold both handles and pull the the trigger next to the handle or on some versions, push the tit between the handles? It's becoming obvious that your experience of weapons is on a computer screen and not in the field.

I still find it strange that the alt-right(a far right group) support Putin’s efforts to wipe out the far right in Ukraine.

Yes, I know it is a bullshit excuse Putin is using but it seems the alt-right beliefs it.

You deal with a whole bunch in a live-fire situation, hell, even when you can the mitigate the stress for folks in a training environment... You posted the pick of that Rambo LMG gunner earlier, and that's just an itty-bitty 7.62, but even so, as instructors we always had a second troop with the belts, and someone with stripes was always on the shoulder of the gunner.

Can't speak to operational infantry on foot like in that pic, but everything we had that was bigger than an R4 or 5, or AK, or shotgun was mounted. As it should be.

Of course. I didn't even go into the MAG gunners number two that carried his personal firearm and the spare belts. The rest of the team also carried spare belts for the MAG but less than number two did. If a PatMor (60mm Patrol Mortar) was carried by the team, everyone carried spare mortar bombs for it too.

I seriously doubt anyone who has not served has any idea of the weight carried on a week patrol including the radio, medical kit, ammunition, bedding food and water. Water weighs 1kg per liter and in waterless areas, a lot has to be carried.

Pic of the SA Special Forces operator Neves Matias with an 80kg pack before deploying into Angola on a long range infiltration:

I think they just get their rocks off on murder, mayhem and human suffering and they don't care who the aggressor is and who the victim is.

They also are just against what decent people care about no matter what it is. That is my observation over the years.

Forest for the trees people forest for the trees. For the record you can mission kill a MBT with a can of spraypaint if you are brave enough.

So, how many MBT's have been killed with spray paint? Why isn't this a standard tactic then?

Because its stupid idea but it is definitely possible if you have a single tank operating alone.

Ask your son how effective a Challenger 2 is with all its optics shot out.

Former Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett:
When I met with Putin he made two big concessions that are obvious now,... I asked, "what's with…
"are you going to kill Zelensky?" He said, "I won't kill Zelensky." Then I said, "I have to understand that you're giving your word that you won't kill Zelensky." "I won't kill Zelensky." After the meeting, in the car from the Kremlin to the airport, I contacted Zelensky by WhatsApp or Telegram. Didn’t you fear the Russians would see?
-No. He has no problem because I was… No, the premise is… -They can see. So you call him. I call Zelensky and say, "I came out of a meeting, he's not going to kill you." He asks, "are you sure?" "100%, he won't kill you." Two hours later Zelensky went to his office and filmed himself there on his phone, "I'm not afraid…"
