French President Emmanuel Macron says that anyone helping the “aggressor”, Russia, in the Ukraine conflict would become an “accomplice”.
Speaking to journalists following his first speech in China after arriving for a three-day visit, Macron said, “We have decided since the beginning of the conflict to help the victim, and we have also made it very clear that anyone helping the aggressor would be an accomplice in breach of international law.”

No doubt the myth of some agreement between US and USSR was brought up about NATO not moving eastward. But Ukraine being part of former USSR would make up part of such an agreement then. No independent entity such as Russia existed at the time. The Baltic states were also part of the USSR.

Russia was on an imperialist drive in Africa in the 80's The only reason they were fought in Angola by the South Africans was to prevent that war from happening on South African soil.

If not for the USSR the West would have pushed full democratization of SA earlier. The USSR retarded the whole thing. The West didn't go whole hog because the Reds were trying to turn this place into another Cuba or Vietnam.

They forced Ukraine to cede her nuclear weapons. They agreed not to establish NATO bases in former Warsaw Pact countries. Even now there is a partial agreement that they only will have rotational forces. No families.

That's why they're still giving Ukraine just enough to hold the Russians back but not to allow a complete victory.
