I see the circus is going on a all paid holiday to the US, knowing how dumb their arguments, it might be their last one there.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, minister of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) Naledi Pandor said that the envoys would be sent to “engage and persuade” stakeholders on the country’s stance on Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin.

“Consider also that, according to IMF data, SA’s five biggest direct investors are the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium, the US and Germany, with $136 billion (R2.5 trillion) between them. The IMF records Russian investments in SA of just $5 million. Even if the real number is far larger, it is a fraction of the major Nato powers.”

He's basically saying: "Comeon! You don't need it! Let us have it!"

I still despise that the Kremlin has consistently dealt with Ukraine as if it doesn't exist. What does Ukraine want? Newsflash Meddo. Ukraine exists! Russia agreed to it's formation. Russia provided security guarantees for it's continued existence. As did the US and the UK. The regime you are part of is a bad joke! Rogue. Pariah! Ukraine is more than 40 million Ukrainians living on over 600 000 km2 of land surrounded by internationally agreed borders!

A country (Russia) talking about other countries as if they don't exists, and have no rights doesn't deserve to be part of the UN!

Really wonder if he is insane enough to actually believe Ukrainians are Nazis and Russia are the good guys while literally using Nazi terminology in a tirade that sounds like a speech that Hitler wrote...

They think they can pull a Gaddafi again. This is nothing like Gaddafi.

Of course not. Their narrative is the core part of their strategy. Whatever that's worth. It has failed for the most part. Some diehard fans still clinging to it, and they are hoping against hope it will be enough. Of course they can't just stop with it and come clean either, because on the domestic front it would be sautéed Putin regime with a side of lynch salad if they did.

"Nobody needs Ukraine" except for Russia. So badly that they are willing to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of soldiers, the bulk of their military equipment and their entire economy.

The problem is that the West still sees Russia as an important stabilizing force. That is an error which still persists. Despite the rhetoric here we still have people pushing that Russia is part of Europe and makes Europe better. But Russia is toxic to Europe. Russian influence needs to be pushed out of Europe. There is even a German language term for this in geopolitical talk, I just can't remember it right now.

No, it's something else. German for stability order or stability giver or stability provider. Probably something from Bismarck. That way Russia gets given a free pass, now they're to be weakened but definitely don't allow them to become so weak to be China's gimp or to break apart because nuclear weapons!!!!!1 and who will we cut deals with. Someone has to control the "barbarians" in the east and central Asia.

Shaping power = Gestaltungsmacht.

This one word summarises why Russia gets a free pass.

As you know many of the people going to war are Asians from the provinces, people who have Chinese/East Asian features. They come from rather poor areas and can be spoonfed BS because they don't have contact with Ukraine. In addition they get promises of loan forgiveness and so they go. This is an icing on the cake. Still many Russians do view Ukraine as part of their world. So it's easy to feed them this. Imagine 100 years ago, how easy would it be to recruit Brits to fight for the Empire, for her majesty and such.
