Full:
Russian MoD statement regarding the US Reaper Drone On the morning of March 14. over the waters of the Black Sea in the area of the Crimean peninsula, the airspace control of the Russian Aerospace Forces recorded the flight of an American MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicle in the direction of the state border of the Russian Federation.

The flight of the unmanned aerial vehicle was carried out with transponders turned off in violation of the boundaries of the area of the temporary regime for the use of airspace, established for the purpose of conducting a special military operation, brought to all users of international airspace and published in accordance with international standards.

In order to identify the intruder, fighters from the air defense forces on duty were raised into the air. As a result of sharp maneuvering around 9.30 (Moscow time), the MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicle went into uncontrolled flight with a loss of altitude and collided with the water surface. Russian fighters did not use airborne weapons, did not come into contact with an unmanned aerial vehicle and returned safely to their base airfield.

US says downing of drone a ‘brazen violation of international law’

State Department spokesman Ned Price has said the downing of an American drone while in international airspace near Crimea was a “brazen violation of international law.”
He said the US summoned the Russian ambassador to lodge a protest and the US ambassador to Russia, Lynne Tracy, has made similar representations in Moscow.
White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said the US has been flying over that airspace for a year, and “we’re going to continue to do that.”
“We don’t need to have some sort of check-in with the Russians before we fly in international airspace. There’s no requirement to do that nor do we do it,” Kirby added.

The incident, which raised tensions over Moscow’s war in Ukraine, appeared to mark the first time since the height of the Cold War that a US aircraft was brought down after being hit by a Russian warplane.

For those who are interested ramming enemy aircraft has a long history in the Russian Air Force.

"The first aerial ramming was performed by Pyotr Nesterov in 1914 during the First World War. In the early stages of World War II the tactic was employed by Soviet pilots, who called it taran, the Russian word for "battering ram"

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. has begun an aggressive new push to inflict pain on Russia’s economy and specifically its oligarchs with the intent of thwarting the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine.

From the Treasury Department to the Justice Department, U.S. officials will focus on efforts to legally liquidate the property of Russian oligarchs, expand financial penalties on those who facilitate the evasion of sanctions, and close loopholes in the law that allow oligarchs to use shell companies to move through the U.S. financial system.

Andrew Adams, who heads the U.S. government’s KleptoCapture task force, designed to enforce the economic restrictions within the U.S. imposed on Russia and its billionaires, told The Associated Press that the group is prioritizing its efforts to identify those who help Russians evade sanctions and violate export controls.

“These illicit procurement networks will continue to take up an ever-increasing amount of our bandwidth,” said Adams, who also serves as acting deputy assistant attorney general.

So far, more than $58 billion worth of sanctioned Russians’ assets have been blocked or frozen worldwide, according to a report last week from the Treasury Department.

King Vlad the Tiny is not going to be amused.

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan has seized the property of the Center for the Operation of Terrestrial Space Infrastructure operating in Baikonur, a subsidiary of Roscosmos, and intends to recover from it a debt of 13.5 billion tenge ($26.3 million). The head of the company is forbidden to leave the country, Moskovsky Komsomolets reports.

The publication's editors stated that they had a notice on the initiation of enforcement proceedings and the measures against the Center for the Operation of Terrestrial Space Infrastructure to extract debt of 13.68 billion tenge in favor of Baiterek Joint Kazakh-Russian Venture. This decision was made by the court of the Astana International Financial Center. The writ of execution was issued at the end of November 2022.

The resulting conflict could lead to Russia's withdrawal from Baikonur, the publication said.

According to kz24.news, the main reason for the arrest was incorrect behavior and harsh statements by new head of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov. The issue was about criticism of the delay in the launch of the launch pad - a project that is being handled by Deputy Minister of Communications of Kazakhstan Bagdat Musin, who is responsible for the space direction. In turn, Musin called Borisov's criticism a "diplomatic miscalculation".

The MK publication called the sanctions against Russia another alleged reason of the arrest, as Kazakhstan is not able to use Russian missiles for commercial launches.

Let's see... The U.S. "airspace" extends halfway across the Atlantic (defining this as controlled "Oceanic ATC" regions - roughly extending past a longitude running through the southernmost point of Greenland - at least 1500km, depending on where you measure). The Black Sea NATO coast, at its very furthest, is roughly 300km from Russian territory (a lot less at points). And this is an active warzone. The U.S. continent is roughly 7000km away from the Black Sea. Hmmm....

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes

No, it doesn't.

US territorial waters extend up to 12 nautical miles from their continental shorelines and thus only the airspace within this range is theirs. Everything beyond that is international airspace.

Of course they will monitor things far beyond this and it is standing military practice for any half-decent military in the world to monitor aircraft outside their territorial airspace in order to anticipate incursions by an aggressor. It is also standing military practice to observe, monitor and then attempt to contact an object of interest in international airspace that may be venturing too close to your territorial airspace, instead of you know, doing something stupid like trying to ram it out of the air.

The Russian higher-up who gave this little trick the greenlight has room temperature IQ. The big powers always play games with one another - the RAF alone has scrambled 136 times since 2005 to ward off Russian aircraft, including Tupolev bombers that have gotten too close to their or NATO airspace - so the last thing you need is a low IQ superior telling his minions to try and engage if an aircraft gets too close.

Lol, how ghey is this? Just like those idiotic pre-planned dances of medical workers during the covid hoax. Same people really.

Out of 100s of 1000s of nurses in America, several recorded a few minute video. That's not even 0.0001% of their combined time in that year. Well maybe they should also take fewer bathroom breaks eh?

Oh yes, soldiers, soldiers only eat, sleep, train and fight. Because there is absolutely no benefit in doing anything else in down time.

Ron Paul should hand in his medical license. The guy is disingenuous at best.

Yes Ron, that money is well spent. Because when America no longer can print dollars, your son may have to quit his job and do some actual work. Ron Paul became an ophthalmologist. Instead of continuing to practice removing cataracts and correcting glaucoma he chose to go into BS. His training was wasted. So many more people could be able to see and be productive in the economy and less on handouts if he continued to work.
