But since Russian is starting to loose access to the Western market who is in the driving seat for price per barrel negotiations?
China and OPEC basically

scary thought to be honest, but we can blame the west for that too, they forced Russia into that pivot

So the sanctions are working then since Russia has to make unpleasant decisions.

Looks remarkably like the aftermath of an allied WW2 bombing run doesnt it?

The 1st prize for genocides and repressions goes to Russia.

Second to Nazi Germany.

They have that sort of tradition to maintain.

How many decades of commitment to a rules based order by dozens of countries somehow lost on you entirely?

So Russia doesn't want to play along with the rules based order anymore...
Well then that's Russia's business. How other countries react in response is their business.

Careful, you'll have to consider SEATO, Geneva accords and Laos. It took over thirty years for that to be acknowledged. ;)

The simple truth is none of the so-called super powers don't play these power games that promote their own interests. Even smaller players do that in regional politics. Did anybody say Maidan? That doesn't mean I condone it, rather the exact opposite. Of course propaganda and disinformation tries to hide this, we simply have to look at Russia trying to clamp down on the media, Ukraine, Germany, USA (I'll be good and not post the Nina Jankowicz vid again).

People believe stuff in good faith not realizing they're products of disinformation. You buy a lot of it until things are said where you're on you field of expertise and then ask WTF, question. We judge based upon certain values, not realizing those values don't translate to what is being judged. Tbh, this thread and it's predecessors exemplary examples of this. Get it or don't:

The have to sell it cheaply. If our government was smart and we had enough refining capacity they should be buying Russian oil at discount to reduce the petrol price since the bulk of their voters don't even know where Ukraine is.

"The expectation that Russian crude would cease to be traded on international markets has not transpired, and instead the steep discount on Russian crude has seen vessels redirected to alternative markets," Wei Cheong Ho, vice president of downstream at consultancy Rystad Energy, said.

On the other hand all you see is smoke in that vid if it even is a thermobaric warhead which it might be.
Thermobarics can easily be recognized by the intense highly visible shockwaves they produce.

Yeah.... Putin would get dragged into the street and lynched.
Yeah... Kinda how the disastrous Soviet-Afghan war was thought to be a primary cause of the collapse of the USSR.

Good thing the Russians are now best friends forever with those dangerous goatherders.

That's what happens when you're sandwiched between two Eastern European countries that are now prospering thanks to their Western stance.

Max Boot is the poster boy for what is wrong in American politics and leadership. And when a pot-smoking Marxist comedian gets it right you know your country is going down.

Maybe... I'm taking everything purporting to be anything regarding this war with a pinch of salt.

Primary I doubt it but it was one of the knocks that knocked the structure down.
