The simple truth is none of the so-called super powers don't play these power games that promote their own interests. Even smaller players do that in regional politics. Did anybody say Maidan? That doesn't mean I condone it, rather the exact opposite. Of course propaganda and disinformation tries to hide this, we simply have to look at Russia trying to clamp down on the media, Ukraine, Germany, USA (I'll be good and not post the Nina Jankowicz vid again).
People believe stuff in good faith not realizing they're products of disinformation. You buy a lot of it until things are said where you're on you field of expertise and then ask WTF, question.
