I realize it's still some time off and that game ticket prices are not available as yet.

But what are the flight prices like currently to Auckland.
Put in some random dates on SAA and for a month's return is like R24k from Cape Town.

Can't seem to make sense of Cathay Pacific's website.
Other airlines that go out that way?

I've got loads of family in Auckland so I was thinking of making the trip, but at R24k just for flights, it's going to take a lot of saving  :erm:

I wish but it is just too expensive. My bro is getting married in Brisbane January and at this stage I won't be going since it would cost way to much! I can't even lend the money from the bank - although it would be a stupid thing to do...

Add in the tickets, the food, booze, transport when you're there etc etc it really isn't worth it at all.

I'm sure you could get some sort of package from SARU's travel agents or a supporters club for cheaper though...

Dude I'd love go to Japan - no need for a World Cup.
Perhaps that is something to look forward to as well!

Aww thanks for the responses though :(

All-inclusive packages as offered by the official IRB/SARU appointed tour operators for the RWC2011, are the way to go. I did this with the 1995 RWC and saw all the matches much cheaper that way. You'll have a hard time buying match tickets separately for a rugby world cup since they're mostly sold as part of a package anyway. Like it or not, it's usually IRB rules.

Try Indo Jet Travel in Durbanville, (021) 970-4700, for a quote. They used to do a lot of these RWC rugby packages in the past, I assume they still do.
