As the title mentions, anyone know when this will be available here?

I see it's already in the US but am sure with lockdown we're delayed. Really have to get a new laptop to carry on working properly from home, but also read the 4th gen Ryzen blows the socks off Intel so I'm hesitant to buy what is on Wootware/Evetech right this second...

Thanks!

There is nothing in the current lineup that I'm interested in, but I am also quite curious to see local pricing on them. Still nothing though. I check the usual online stores every now and then.

The new AMD mobile chips are seriously pimp, I want one!

Guess you have refresh that page now and then, also waiting for it.

My current laptop weights 6kg, but its gets the job done~!

Been dying to find out more info about the new Ryzens as well! I have seen a few intel 10th gen laptops (all business model and U-series CPUs) floating around on local stores but nothing at all about the new Ryzen CPUs.

If anyone knows anything about their local ETA please share!:)

I think the biggest conundrum is this:
Since lockdown the rand has been pummeled so most of the items we see online have probably not seen much a price adjustment because it's not new stock - So do I go for an Intel laptop which is in stock, or wait for he Ryzen which will most likely have better performance compared to similar Intel product, but will probably be crazy expensive once it gets here because of the ridiculous exchange rate. I'm a little stuck lol

Update: Found an IOL article from April talking about the Lenovo Legion 5 and 7i releases. The Legion 5 uses the new AMD Ryzen 4000 series CPUs:

The 2020 lineup features the Lenovo Legion 7, which costs R39 999 and the Lenovo Legion 5 (R21 999), which will be available in South Africa in August 2020.

Unfortunately Lenovo has decided to pair the Ryzen CPUs with a 1650ti (I hate that so many OEMs are doing this!) but it is the first article actually giving definite price ranges and arrival dates on a new Ryzen laptop.

ETA: This article a few days ago discusses the new Ryzen-powered Thinkpads coming to South Africa but doesn't say much about their arrival dates other than "soon". Didn't see anything about prices either.

Another Edit: Got the expected dates for the Thinkpads in South Africa:

ThinkPad E14 is expected to be available from June 2020
ThinkPad E15 is expected to be available from June 2020
ThinkPad T14 will be available in June 2020

ThinkPad T14s will be available in June 2020

ThinkPad X13 will be available in June 2020

ThinkPad L14 will be available in June 2020

ThinkPad L15 will be available in June 2020
