First of, I don't know if its even worth it, if it is, where in Pretoria/Centurion or Midrand would you recommend trying to repair the following:

S2: Screen damaged. Phone fell and only jagged upper section of screen displays with some artifacts.

S4: Severe water damage.

I went to WeFix in Centurion and they charge R250 drainage fee upfront and then give a quote for repair. If the repair fails you still pay for labour.

Is it even worth trying, even if repairable ?

On Hans Strijdom where you turn to Pierre van Ryneveld turn right, then left and right again. There is a shopping centre which has a Mica and Woolworths. I used the guy there plenty. 3g is the shops name.

I just removed the battery from my damaged s2 and gave it to my son to play with. Hoping my screen protectors will last a bit longer now.

water damage
Don't even bother. Never seen a water damaged phone revived and work for more than a few months. If it were a newer phone you could have it repaired and it would last long enough to sell, but that would be unethical.

But they do make nice stress relievers. Just throw them at the wall.

Why would you give your son a battery to play with? :p :whistling:

S2- not advisable to repair. Batteries ae not be be given to kids to play with as a child's imagination can go wild a any given time.

S4- worthy of a fix as I currently still use it myself. It had gone through water damage and cracks yet still works like a charm. It would advise you to find an Indian shop where cellphone repairs are done and take it from there. Max fee for the damage would be at around 1200 rands. Most smartphone today still can't meet the standards of the s4
