I see sammobile had on 15 Match an XFE version of nougat available for s7. Anyone know what XFE stands for?

Does this means local networks should be rolling out soon?

If your phone is XFE it will update to the latest XFE regardless which network SIM you have in it.

Same goes for the other region codes.

The fact that Sammobile has it listed on their website means it's already rolled out/started to roll out locally for that specific region code.

If phone was purchased from an MTN dealer and it's already on xfe the answer is yes

It still wouldn't need an MTN sim in the phone (which is the quiestion he's posing), it could be a Russian sim in the phone, if it's an XFE csc it'll update, no matter what sim.

I asked Samsung South Africa this question a few days ago. This was there response,

'The buyer codes are for Sales Channels :

XFA – SA Open Network

XFE – Export to Neighbouring Countries'

I also asked when the XFA version would be available, reply from Samsung below...

'Please be advised that Samsung S.A is currently in testing phases with the relevant Network Service Providers. An estimated release date should be towards the end of April.'

I'm assuming if you load XFE it's not going to break any features or make the phone not register on SA networks?
