No, but the UCT admissions policy requires the white med students to have higher marks in matric than the black students for admission.

This has been discussed on this forum before.
Funny thing is that 2 students I know that are at UCT did well in matric. One got 4 A's and is doing BCom and the other got 5 or 6 A's and is doing stats or actuarial science. Both are girls btw:p

Go for a government teacher interview and see for yourself. Become a member of SADTU or be recommended first by a connection too.
Somehow the primary school close to where I live has more white teachers than black. 2 I see regularly in the mornings are quite young. Tell me no government school has young white teachers and I'll tell you that's BS.

Not all of Europe had countries either in the 16th century.

Maybe, but they had written laws, educational systems, books, math, science, astronomy, roads, bridges, huge stone buildings, ships, water reticulation systems, planning, currency, engineering and many others Africa didn't.

They had educated elite. The rest were not. And not all had those things. I'll be back as soon as I'm done washing dishes.

Come on Cosmik. Come on. Why do you think there were laws preventing people from moving to urban areas? Had such laws not existed, we would have ended up with slums like we have today. That's why those with no purpose were banished to the homelands. Look at the rest of Africa to see the point I'm raising. Many had no segregation laws and their cities were surrounded by slums.

Many African countries secretly admired the pass laws to prevent slums being established. And the pass laws only started in the mid 20th century and ended 40 years later.

No such was promised. Promises made were free basic services and education. There was not even promose of free housing. RDP program started under the GNU.

No such was promised.

Come on. White people were being told by their domestics that they were getting their houses after the elections and should prepare to move into Khayelitsha. I lived through that.

Let me put it this way. Let's compare 2 poor people; one living in a shack in the city and the other living in a mud house in a decent yard in the countryside. Who's better off?

Depends. Employment in the shack, none in the mud hut. Subsistence farming with droughts and floods in the mud hut vs supermarkets in the shack. Plenty more you can think of.

Are they government employed or SGB employed?

Particularly fast improvements in literacy took place across Northwest Europe in the period 1600-1800. As we discuss below, widespread literacy is considered a legacy of the Age of Enlightenment. ... For example, Bob Allen provides estimates of the evolution of literacy in Europe between 1500 and 1800 using data on urbanization rates. For more ...
