He would refuse to take on any student who failed the retest - they would have to secure training elsewhere.

From My experience is you can't tell them to leave if they dumb as bricks and because the standards are so low they pass the council exams.

Also the reporting is very defined with the council so it's quite difficult to fail them as well. As for students the university doesn't allow us to grade them when they came to the hospital we must just supervise them.

You can't just go you suck I'll fail you. Which is also a good thing because it prevents victimization however it also seems to protect those who aren't worthy of the title

This was pre 1994, much was different then.
As example, I was 1 of 2 white students accepted into a designated "non-white" academic facility, which I guess in terms of prevailing legislation may have been deemed illegal.
Perhaps academic hospitals at the time had a little more say in the training of students.
Having said that, I have never been involved with the training of students, thus ill qualified to comment on any policy at the time.

That comment is of such low IQ and quality that I won't use much sarcasm...
Ouch, however it was a question... is this a permanent move? will you return once the DA crowns it's supreme chancellor?

1. Not black. Your comment was simply in poor humour, or none at all.
2. Why do you care if we moved back or not? You're anonymous to me in every way with an opinion that means zero.

You're probably trying to push buttons (unsuccessfully) and patting yourself on the back irrespective of it. Try harder.

...but let's answer a question that's clearly meant to troll: Probably not. I couldn't care if the DA, ActionSA or some party other than the EFF runs the country.
Race is something that this country can never get past. Will the DA run the country? Who knows...they seem more interested in the WC and Cape Town.

Dude, I'm not trolling. You the one who shared the information that you leaving. I could ask you the very same question why do you care to share this information? perhaps the second question stirred you a bit but clearly not the intention.

But to be frank, I do care that people are leaving SA. I think my comments earlier in the thread speaks to this. I have relatives who are leaving, at this point I have mostly just flirted with the idea of leaving but my spouse is quite serious about leaving the country. IDK I feel like a tree, just deeply rooted in the soil here.

OK cool. NOW you've put forward your standpoint which I understand.
I said what I did because it's a public forum. Also interested to see who else was doing the same thing.

At the end of the day, we are simply tax payers. Never mind the 200 year history of having relatives come over from Scotland, the UK and Germany to start a life here. The impression given is that we are not wanted.
Race, like I said, is something we never seem to get away from at all. Nobody can move forward no matter how much we want to.

We have children who deserve better, and their children deserve better too. Best to set them up now where they could get into varsity without any issues and become what they want too.

Leaving families behind...man, its not easy. I can see the impact already and we have 4 months to go. Friends? Haven't told them yet. At the end of the day, it's a sad state of affairs and the government seemingly couldn't give a rat's ass either. Sure, they pay lip service in trying to get people to stay/come back, but then they continue with BBBEE, land expropriation etc.

Anyways, enough heaviness for the day.

Leaving in January 2023. Thanks for everything RSA, we weren't wanted here as certain parties keep on telling us.
Not black though...just part of the brain drain.
This article is so absurd to me. It should actually read: SA's skilled population are considering Emigration...

Good luck to you and your family.

Dude it's an adventure see more places explore the world, I love South Africa more than anything but seeing the world is also great.

Don't leave with hatred for SA in your heart and you will do fine. Some people leave with hate and just carry that with them and they are just miserable people.

Home will be there for you be it back permanently or a holiday.

Thats a positive outlook I'm sure @OhYeah84 's outlook is similar his just sharing his thoughts and excitement for new adventure. I guess once you placed and made the necessary arrangements the excitement sets in, but prior to that it's convincing yourself, and thats where I am.

He's looking for attention.

Ultimately its you and your wife's decision that's all that really matters. I was also apprehensive about it so I know how you feel.
