No black person in SA can claim to have got a job or sports team position on merit because of AA. The unforeseen consequence of social engineering.

Are you also saying

No white person in SA can claim to have got a job or sports team position pre-1994 on merit because of apartheid exclusion laws. The unforeseen consequences of social engineering.

How much % of the population did Apartheid prevent from competing with you?
How much % of the population is BEE preventing others from competing with you?

That system was evil and had to be overthrown, for all the policies that discriminated against black people. This includes laws excluding black people from jobs. And indeed the system was rightly rejected an overthrown.

Now we have these laws again - incrementally stricter and harsher - but the colors are simply reversed. Would the premise then not apply again, where such a system should be rejected?

You are kidding? Do you have to carry a dompas everywhere you go?

Can you show me one photo of a group of afrikaners happily working under a black manager?

No no no, you misunderstand, he worked hard for everything he has.

He literally believes black people were not disenfranchised during Apartheid but white people are disenfranchised now. He tends to repeat his words verbatim and once respondd to me with that when I called him out when he used the exact same phrasing.

Employment Equity speaks to race, gender and persons living with a disability.

Eish, what is your position.

Current race based laws are good but not the apartheid ones?

All race based laws are good, but just some more good/bad/indifferent, selectively by degrees to personal taste?

All race based laws are bad?

In my stating "incrementally", and you just going nuclear from the outset, you're trying to set up a strawman. The laws are there for all to see, and incrementally getting stricter. Refer the next set of laws that give the minister the power to "prescribe targets" in any sector and manner he deems fit. Slowly but surely.

Many departments I know of have black managers with white (and black/other) employees, this is not even strange anymore. You would be hard-pressed to find an all-white department anywhere... due to the laws that we are currently discussing!

Come on you have been here long enough to know the whites had it worse. They still suffer to this day.

Yeah, and we are always told how people continue to vote for the ANC as though they are stupid but dare you raise the same about how people continously voted for the NP. We must suddenly understand and have empathy in that case.

If the NP were not supported as ardently for so many years, it's unlikely we would have had the ANC for so long. At least, the ANC probably won't govern for as long as the NP did.

True, you will find that many people in our country, not just white people have a problem with how BEE is being implemented, but some have their own agendas as we have seen here, you are allowed to judge any successful black person based purely on your perception of how you think they became successful.

You are also allowed to look sideways at any white person who is in any profession based purely on your perception of how he benefited from Apartheid, of course nothing has to be based on facts,
I thought I'd just flip that coin, based on many. many posts here on MyCadreband.

Like Wade Van Niekerk ?

Not every organisation has quota's and complies with AA/BBBEE

Perhaps reframe your statement to say "Because of the end of apartheid...."
