AFAIK the Republic of South Africa was created on 31 May 1961 after the 1960 referendum.
Borders were already set by Union of South Africa. The referendum was largely to get rid of the last remnants of the British government is domestic politics, and set in motion the envisaged white homeland.

Apartheid was a necessary evil to give the Afrikaner a place to call home. Unfortunately, the politicians and to some extend private sector, stuffed up the implementation.

The rules it had around relationships and race sounds like it was drawn up by a bunch of lunatic madmen. I dont believe in hell but if there is one, they should burn there for all eternity.

Apartheid is gone but it left us with issues, one of them being the ANC. It's hard to gauge if BEE has been successful or if people have just been able to hire anyone now, but the black middle class has grown quite a bit.

The remaining problems in our country cannot be fixed by BEE, but also will take a generation or 2 to for any positive effects to be noticed with the born frees and equality laws - right now there are still a lot of people who came from or remember the Apartheid days

As Cosmik alluded to as well, BEE was the idea of the Broederbond, a fact hardly ever brought up by right wingers around this topic.

White people were not allowed to do business or reside in these homelands, so in other words white people also got disenfranchised by the Apartheid government.

White people did business and resided in my homeland, Ciskei, during the Apartheid. I have seen them in my visits to Transkei. I cannot speak of other TBVC states because I was far from them.

Anyone who is upset about that is a lunatic sociopath. They are drunks and losers who have no social skills and take out their frustrations on the internet about what losers they are.

No need to go after the drunks that just hits too close to home.

They did business and actually owned farmlands in in the general vicinity of my village as well. They farmed wheat and maize but abandoned these lands in the late 70s.

Who's upset that black people don't have to answer to whites? Or are you just trying to push some imaginary racism angle?

You haven't read all posts in this thread. Of course the posters are wise enough to make it as subtle as they can to avoid outright bans.

As in Boer Economic Empowerment?

I am not being sarcastic.

It is certainly true that the Nat govt implemented a not so subtle policy of AA and EE (leaving apartheid itself aside for the moment)
Many of the parastatals were used as AA vehicles to advance afrikaners to address the so-called poor white problem that arose after the Boer war.

Or do you mean the current policy of AA and BEE? I would be interested to hear if they supported THAT idea. It just doesn't seem likely unless i am missing something?

Let me ask you first, do you agree that the standard of education has drastically dropped the past 20+ years, and specially so at the old technicons and colleges, but also at universities?

I honestly have no idea, have never done any research on it, don't have any stats, nor am I in any position to speculate about it.
I can tell you. I went to a technical college in 1994. Firstly - there were black, coloured and indian people with me in class. SO fck off with any apartheid statement.
The facilitators we had were top notch. Best of the best.
Jump forward to 2012 - I joined the training industry. Fck.... colleges were so kak they asked us to help after hours. I just refused. Student on student complained. Facilitators knew fokol. Students created their own little groups and tried teaching themselves. It came to the point that we don't send any learners to college.

Yes, I can relate to that in the context of Ciskei.

Under the apartheid government puppet, Pres Lennox Sebe, White people were doing business in Ciskei for a good strategic reason. The only time many White businesses moved out was in 1990 during the military coup to overthrow Sebe.
