Private Medical Aids wont be covering basic healthcare costs at all.

It's easy to spend money and hide it for later to show no "profit"

The building is leased and is the Head Office for the entire Discovery Group, which, with the exception of the medical aid, is profit making.

And the other little fact that these increases (for Discovery anyway) are lower than last year, and the year before

This is a farce and you know it. The law around non profits also don't clearly state what salaries might be applicable , only that it should be equitable and far and bla bla bla, anyone can essentially just use industry standard CEO millions as a salary benchmark.

Yes by law it should be setup as a non profit trust account owned by its members but the reality is that Salaries etc. is allowed to be paid from returns from this so called non profit trust and discovery simply inflate their own salaries as they see fit and no one is the wiser.

So the status of a non profit trust is just a protection racket, these guys operate for profit and makes a killing.

This BS about "insurance scheme operate as non profit" need to stop unless people are willfully just this stupid to actually believe the cr@p they say/type.

Agreed, all these private medical aids will soon seize to exist, they themselves know it and already started planning their exit out of the markets should the NHI be pushed through.

As for them not being profitable organizations.... Lol People really are naive. Every second company wants to get into this market. Just go and look at the number of so-called newcomers the past few decades. Lol, if there was no money to be made and these companies could not make billions, none of them would have been in this market.
