Stats are ultimately irrelevant in this discussion, even though they give a baseline.

I just have to look at myself, and all the people I work with and know... all the households in the Upper Middle Class segment are cutting back on luxuries because life is not affordable at those levels anymore.

If that is the case, we're right at the bottom, cannot make ends meet anymore.

Something's gotta give soon.

True. The reason for not using anecdotal evidence is however still valid

Its anecdotal on the surface of it, for sure.

But it is backed up by a different set of "stats" if you will.

The average CPI is hovering in the 6% range, which is what companies will base their annual increases on. The problem is the increase in cost of goods and services is outstripping CPI by a significant margin on a regular basis.

My municipal bill has not increased by anything less than 10% year on year for the last 3 years. Fuel has been a strange one going up and coming down so difficult to judge. Food has definitely increase by more than 15 or 20% this year alone.
