SA mobile prices are not as high as you may think: Vodacom CEO

Really ScameelPerd?

Nobody pays the high-level prices?

You might want to tell your contract customers that little gem, they could do with the laugh.

We don't want your confusing BS pricing structure, make it cheaper, make it simpler. Like CellC (who will be getting my business as soon as my contract with your crowd is over)

**EDIT**
Could he please explain how he got to the 64c/minute figure. None of the prices on their website are below R1.00 per minute (off peak)..

whey was this not asked by the auther of this article. why not ask some real questions. highlite the facts that there is a lot of people on contract that are being screwed every month.

Doubt anyone will buy his bull**** but I guess it helps him sleep easier at night.

It was said at the MyBB conference. Shameel has a session and they can talk without interruption (i.e. not a press conference). Not sure if he allowed time for questions from the audience and it doesn't seem as if he's part of a panel discussion.

Myself? Also waiting until December for my contract to expire!

ooohhh maybe he was making a joke. i am sure the people started laughing when he said that crap

1GB Vodacom Bolt-on "Promo" Data ==> R149pm

vs

5GB Afrihost Mobile Promo Data ==> R145pm

Guess which one I'm using Vodacom? :whistling:

There is a very easy way to change impressions: state the facts.
The current spin just makes my head hurt.

Vodacom have lost the plot. Not only are their prices crazy for minutes, but their packages are a joke.
Vodacom iPhone 5 - R429 P/M with 75 Minutes and 200MB data.
CellC R399 P/M with 100 Minutes, and 400MB Data.
So, phone is cheaper P/M plus you get 2x data and 25 extra minutes, then when you look at the call rates...
CellC 99c.
Try and even find the pricing on Vodacom's site. Its impossible.
Eventually found it buried 4 pages deep, had to click on the smart lite plan , then select another plan then look at the smart per minute pricing.
The most expensive rate to off network calls is R1.99 (double the cell c rate)
Of course, because of number porting you have absolutely no idea what a call will cost, if you are lucky, it will be an on-network call, then its only a bargain at R1.65. WOW!!! Look at the saving!!!

Good luck with that. Cell C in Umhlanga is useless if you need data or have people get hold of you.

My CellC phone works just fine at work in Umhlanga, and at home, and pretty much everywhere.

Vodacom's like the ANC government .. whenever they state something as fact you can bet your bottom dollar the truth of the matter is the exact opposite!

At the end of the day, it's the bottom line that counts.
All I know is that a whole lot of money stays in my pocket ever since I ported to CellC.

I do not have to phone less, now I just call, sms or use data as I please. Never even check usage and I still spend way less than at VodaCon.

Maybe he should be selling the stuff he's smoking.
LOL
