First song I heard of his was Great Heart in the Jock of the Bushveld movie in the 80s, on my grandfathers colour TV, those "wooden" finish ones, with the silver control panel on the one side.

He had the guts to bring South Africans together, when it was dangerous to do so. He did it through talent and music, and nothing about him changed even when it was no longer dangerous to desire a break down in barriers.

He did it all through music, and as displayed in this thread he succeeded. We need more Johnnys.
