Exactly, the sick leave is already there.

If your cycle is so bad you can’t work simply make use of sick leave and they can just bake that into their policy.

And drive to the doctor and pay to get a sick note.

Why do you guys (men mostly this thread by the look of it) even care or have a strong opinion about this? What's it to you if the moody potato sits at home and does nothing vs sitting at work doing nothing never mind the "logistical" problems some of them face during this time.

Why do you care?

Contraceptive injection is free for anyone who wants it. Periods pretty much get reduced to nothing when a woman is on it.
Umm no.
This is not true.
Free no, you have to see a doctor to be placed on any form of contraception.
Condoms are free not contraception.

Its not just take a pill and feel better.

Why not? Who decides what who cares and comments about?

Who decides who must explain themselves and their feelings about issues?

That is pointless anyway as one only gets insulted or shouted down since no-one's opinion on the internet is sacrosanct.

Why does this feeble excuse pop up more and more on threads?

People care and comment about things that interest or upset or thrill them.

So, can men also have menstrual leave because their partner (If the partner has periods - See where this could go?) is menstruating? After all, paternity leave is now a thing and the male partner in a binary or same sex relationship also suffers.

Good or bad for you since you've had first hand experience. I've seen someone with severe cramping. Everything literally stops.
One's "severe" is another's "not so bad"...it's all subjective isn't it.

But this all is moot in SA really...here people see Sick Leave as extra leave and make sure they use ALL of it every year. And so be it.

But getting extra paid leave for period pains? Kak story...

If we were having this conversation face to Face ID ask you the same thing: "Why do you care?"

But...it is.
No its not.
And you thinking it is , shows you that you never had a period.

Men debating periods is like transgender ‘woman’ wanting gynea appointments.
Pointless.
Tits without nipples
Pointless..

I’m not saying that all woman needs period leave, just saying its not as simple as take a pill and get over it.

I've answered that already and would do the same face to face too....I care 'cos it is unnecessary and would be "unfair" in the workplace where women have been fighting...and still are for unsubstantiated and vague reasons...for 100% equal pay and rights and treatment.

But when it suits women, they want special treatment.

Make of that what you will...no further rebuttals from me. I've said my piece and am really not interested in along drawn out argument that will lead absolutely nowhere.

I'm going downstairs to light the braai for an early lunch to enjoy the fact that it will not rain anymore today!

I hope you have a nice day too.

But then what are you saying? It's either ALL...or NONE.

I say NONE...and if it is so bad, take your sick leave. I promise you, when choosing between 2 weeks at the beach during Christmas, or staying at home for cramping that can be HELPED by meds...most women will choose the 2 weeks at the beach. Yeah yeah I know...the white privileged ones of course....

Give it to everyone.since everyone can identify as female anyway.

Period pains will be the new no petrol money.
