SA Politics Thread Part 9: The Land of The GNU

Lindiwi Sisulu is not cut out for the position. If she is considered a choice, then it is just for the appeasement of the cadres. Just because she has a history of serving in diplomacy roles, that doesn't make her a suitable candidate. Tony Leon, on the other hand, is a perfect fit for the shoe. Though there are other candidates worth exploring, too.

It just seems to me that IOL is out to disturb the peace. Sisulu isn't on the good side of the Jewish Board of Deputies, not when looking at this:

Embassy downgrade: Jewish board of deputies says Sisulu contradicts Ramaphosa

Minister of International Relations Lindiwe Sisulu's claims that the downgrading of the SA Embassy in Israel has already been implemented, completely contradicts President Cyril Ramaphosa's sentiments on the issue.

So says the SA Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD).

You are off to a bad start with a historical conflict. It is not healthy for foreign policy. There will be points with regard to Israel at the center of the engagement, and that is unavoidable.

I think Semafor is closer to the mark with Andries Nel being the favourite of Luthuli House. Nel is a long-serving steward of the Tripartite Alliance, has intimacy with the Americans, and is for all intents and purposes an /cough Afrikaner and yes, it is all beneficial for the ANC, and importantly he can speak freely in terms of land reform.

The problem with Nel is that he is a cadre, the man is a communist. I don't think the Trump administration is all too welcoming of cadres, but they will be far more open to Nel than they will ever be to Sisulu. Sisulu is just a risk.

Odds are it still exists. Does fokoli. But everyone on it gets paid massive salaries. Such is the nature of the beaurocracy that everyone loves so much
Turns out there's a bunch of redtape when trying to cut redtape

So what do you think of my high IQ idea? Develop Khayelitsha and all their townships to the point where there is a distinct difference between them and Gauteng townships, to end this debate once and for all.
Ok, let's also compare the rest of the city while we're at it. The difference with DA governed Western Cape cities is "distinct" as you put it. You need to bring forward your meditation retreats to re-think your election strategy. This is not it

That's the thing. And the reason why people love to shout "DA hate townships/black people".

People don't understand that, DA can deliver services as best they can via CoCT, but that transformation you seek won't happen until there's macroeconomic changes i.e. change in the broader economy and standards of living on national level.
These ANC gentlemen know this very well. It's just that they have nothing left to argue. Much like the high-IQ election strategy of raising taxes and telling the US to fck off 🤣. These are guaranteed vote losers. 20% will come so fast at these guys. It will be fun to watch from a distance

If she can do that without saying a word, then she would still be better than Rasool.
LOL that's true.
Leon wouldn't be a good choice either however. The DA, ANC and government positions are all at odds on this and Leon is DA. The best decision should be for the GNU to sit and decide.

Yeah because the CIT guys, nyaopes, house breakers are all going to stop their activities if you somehow made everyone equal. In any case, what does addressing inequalities look like to you and how does it solve the high crime problem.

P.S. The poll answers are all stupid and wouldn't solve ****.
