SA Post Office cuts the countries from which you can receive packages

The South African Post Office has significantly cut the countries to and from which it offers a postal service.

It said the changes were made in response to stricter lockdown rules introduced in some countries, which means that transport connections to and from the affected countries are no longer available.

The amount of Wish parcels not going to arrive is going to be chaos once they open up again...

SA is still a signatory to the Universal Postal Union, formed in 1876. This precludes any exclusions

They just want to have less work to not do.
Not really, the last couple of months, the Sassa rows was around the block from their entrance, for over a week at my local PO. Couldn't go in the PO to collect, anyway.

China, too. Thought they funded SA SOE's and are friends.

Chinese children go to sleep hungry since they introduced that R30 fee to collect a R15 item. African brothers that helped them in the struggle get set on fire as thanks. Friendship with the ANC-led government may be overrated.

This just so happens to be the top countries SA taxpayers end up in.

Did the include SA in the excluded list.......
That's exactly what I was wondering, receiving post from South Africa was always a no go reality, I just wish SAPO would officially admit it.

lol, what. New Zealand?! Are you serious. The only cases have been in isolation. I think Post Office decided it can't handle the volume of items they need to open to see if it's worthy to steal and decided to halt delivery so they have time to riffle through packages to make sure they don't miss any goodies that could enrich them and their families during this "trying time"

At least most South Africans abroad know to use FedEx or DHL instead of relying on SAPO for documents like passports, police certifications, etc.

Eish, so now the post office becomes a dedicated Sassa office and a place to buy Lotto tickets.
