SA Post Office warns of new customs scam

The SA Post Office has warned against a phishing scam which is being used to defraud South Africans.

It said in a statement that this scam involves members of the public receiving an email which says that they owe customs duties.

I thought the sapo was the scam, busy scamming people to pay extra handling fees on packages and busy scamming taxpayers government for bailouts.

An obvious scam, SAPO is incapable of running a working payment website

Of course that email was fake - the real post office is not capable of delivering an email to the right recipient

Received one this morning, just hovering over the link was enough to tell me to steer clear, that and the fact that I havent ordered anything in yonks.

I today got a USPS email to confirm a delivery waiting for me without having ordered something. The email address "from" didn't contain any reference to USPS but a funny long address with a lot of figures and numbers.

SAPO should consider going legit. Stop stealing their customers' parcels and start delivering them. Offer a same year service.
