SA law is still 100% colonial. and Latin doesn't change application of law.

It does change the understanding, concept and common language of law. Stated to me by an advocate and former magistrate.

First you state that Latin is a requirement and when corrected you go on another slant. Can't you ever accept what is said?

Don't be absurd. I asked if Latin got removed and whether our system is in Latin. Where did I say it was a requirement and this line of thread is the same as where I started. Where'd we go off in a tangent different than, decolonisation, Hlophe and Latin?

No, he wouldn't get a chance based on his past behaviour. Stop trying to deflect to skin colour when his problem is character:

where in any of that does it say he got a pass because of a decolonised (removing latin as a requirement doesn't make it decolonised) justice system?

These nominations make it easy for Mandisa Maya.
Besides the obvious that gives her the edge, how is she as a candidate? Besides the odd court case I really don't follow goings ons in the judiciary.

I don't know much about her judgments. I think the one that will be spoken about most is the Unisa Afrikaans judgment which she wrote in Xhosa and was confirmed last month by ConCourt in Afrikaans.

Having listened to the interviews of SCA judges who were vying for ConCourt positions and judges who have acted at the SCA, they all have stories of how horrible the place used to be, and now they say the work environment has improved since Maya took the reins.

Edit: Oops, seems the improvement is going at snails pace. But at this year's interviews most of the candidates said things are fine now.

OK, you know far better. Not going to continue with this. Have everything your way. You're always right.

Unsurprising, the BLA are one of those RET type "black excellence" groupings who think a black professional must not be held to account. They support mediocrity as long as the person is black and supports their agenda. They also support the incompetent PP.

I wonder what % of black lawyers they represent?
