SA rail on the brink of complete collapse

South Africa's railway system is approaching total collapse due to the theft of electrical cables, vandalising of tracks and signalling equipment, and the complete stripping down of station buildings.

That is according to a new report titled "Why there are so many trucks on the road and so few trains on the tracks" compiled by experienced rail journalist David Williams for the Brenthurst Foundation.

Williams claims that around two-thirds of above-ground electrical cables on the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa's (Prasa's) network of 3,000km has been stolen or broken.

I used to have an old piece of rail that was about 30cm in length.
Caught off guard... it also got stolen. Hard to protect train tracks xD

And the criminals stealing everything are ANC voter's. Who else could they be?
Or it could be people who are non voters? I know it's a strange concept for someone like you to grasp but we have way more people who don't vote for anyone so if we apply the statistical logic you were attempting chances are that it's people who have no time for voting because their criminal schedule is just too busy for that.

really amazed to see the major passenger line (that carried thousands of passengers daily) between JHB / Centurion / PTA be completely out of comission.

words fail me :( Goverment and also the populace to blame
I would say government is to blame, the populace can easily deal with the lowlifes but we know how that is going to pan out.

Well done ANC! Less than 30 years to collapse an entire railway system which took more than 100 years to build! VIVA!
Hey now, the author of the Paper was kind enough to blame Apartheid before the ANC could

While the decline of South Africa’s railways has accelerated in recent years, it can be traced back as far as the 1980s.

Shop door handles are being stolen here. Okes walking around with screwdrivers and stealing that too. Pathetic what this country has become with the ANC government.

So the ANC has created a situation where every institution headed by blacks is collapsing. Every SOE, municipality, government department,....
This was deliberate as they practiced job reservation, for blacks.
What does this do to black esteem/psyche?
The inferiority instilled by crime against humanity is increased by the ANC's slothful incompetence, greed, corruption. This is another crime against humanity.

All it does is make everyone question a blacks ability in any job he or she is appointed for.....was it on merit or just cause they black.

It cheapens the person's credibility. I think it must be a kak life to be a successful black person in the scenario that BBBBB etc have created. I'm pretty sure properly qualified black people want BBBBB whatever to **** off. For ever.

Not voting is the same as voting for the incumbents.

Prophets of electricity on leave?
