Telkom said:
It said government could play "an active role in subsidising broadband services"

Uhm, wait a second. Didn't government and the taxpayer ALREADY DO THAT by DONATING ALL THE COPPER INFRASTRUCTURE THEY USE?

All three increased their prices by less than the inflation rate this year.

This is being held up as proof that competition is limiting prices.

Vodacom and Cell C claimed their prices were not too high either and that competition in the sector is sufficient to ensure that consumers are getting good value at a fair price.
What competition? They're pretty much all charging the same prices for the same services. Collusion?
Telkom said its prices were not exceptionally high compared to other comparable countries and that it wasn't making "super" profits.
Then why are we as consumers paying so much and getting so little in return?
Telkom admitted that its ADSL prices are higher than those charged in other comparable countries.
Then reduce the prices to the levels in comparable countries - though I would like to know what countries they consider as being comparable.

No - "super profit" is where one company makes more money than the country's entire tax roll.
Now - lets see - profit of Teklom + Voda + CellC + MTN + DiData = ????
Country's tax roll = ????
It's tiny man. :p
