Elgar been called up as cover but isn't Zondo already there? Will Zondo start with Elgar coming in as cover for Zondo?

I think he was just super unlucky. In one over, the ball had been drilled back to him, hitting his hand and knocking his pinkie guard off. Then in the next over (I think it was), Dhoni smashed that return catch back at him and he couldn't get the hands out of the way. Think that mow from MS would've damaged anyone.

Yeah, I think with any injury there's usually an element of bad luck. Seems the bad luck is following JP though! That Achilles injury during a training session started the ball rolling and its been gathering momentum ever since!! Hopefully JP is fit for the tests! The balance of the team rests on his selection.

Yeah, poor guy. Good news is that he should be fine for the test series but I agree. When he's not in the side, the middle order just looks so fragile.

Elgar is more a like for like replacement. If he starts, he and Behardien would share 5th bowler duties. But I really dont rate his bowling, the Indians would target him. So I think Morris should get a game.

Mmmmmm, Morris for JP? That's a very long tail!

EDIT: Tell you who I would pick to replace JP, Albie!! I'm mystified that he's still over looked...

They were targeting Duminy too, and if they target Morris then we're really screwed. Batsman tend to have a bigger impact on ODIs and Elgar is a far better batsmen. He might go for 10-15 runs more than Morris with the ball, but he'll probably score 30 runs more with the bat...

Yup, which is why the top 6 need to pull finger! Having Morris come in at 170/5 is a no no.

Agreed but for some reason he's still seen as a T20 specialist...

I would normally agree with you, however he had a horrible time in the Triangular in India. If we go batsman heavy, then Zondo should play. He scored the 2nd most runs after QdK in that triangular. With an innings of 80 odd against the spin heavy attack of India A at the same stadium we are playing at tomorrow. But then Behardien would have to bowl 10 overs, which I dont think will happen

+1 for bolstering the batting especially with the loss of Duminy. We've made one decent performance with the bat (game 1) and that was still not enough runs (India should have won that game). We definitely need more runs on the board.

Morris to RG Sharma, OUT, flicked uppishly again and this time he's given a catch to midwicket! It was angling in towards the pads, Rohit flicked and found du Plessis, who tumbled to his right for a low catch

RG Sharma c du Plessis b Morris 21 (19b 4x4 0x6) SR: 110.52

Huge wicket. Sharma has been swimming in runs this tour.

Good news. Early and regular wickets needed to ensure the target isn't too great. Chasing is going to be a tall order on this pitch.
