Batsman need to start applying themselves. Would like hash back at 3,ab 4 and faf 5. Yeah I get the wanting more time between innings argument from hash but punter managed to captain from 3 and we can't afford to be down 2 so early on everytime so we need hash at 3. Hopefully Dale is fit for the next one as well. If it was possible would fly QDK in for villas as well...

My side:

1.Elgar
2.Van Zyl
3.Amla
4.AB
5.Faf
6.Jp
7.Villas
8.Steyn
9.Radaba
10.Morkel
11.Tahir

Only change I would make in your squad is drop Villas, give the gloves to AB and go with the extra specialist batsman in Bavuma. Villas technique/mode of playing has proven not good enough IMO.

Agree completely, i dont see the point of AB not keeping. He has shown he can do both, and better than most.

Its a possibility but I really wouldn't want to burden our best batsman in the series atm.

No no no. Drop Vilas. and put QdK back in. The poor bloke was just coming back into his natural game in India after that disaster of a world cup, and the kick him back home. Idiots.

With him and AB firing the guys stand a bit of a chance in at least getting runs on the board.

With Steyn and Phil falling apart, I don't see how we will ever take twenty wickets.

You do know QdK is not in the squad right? Villas or another batsman would have to get injured for him to come over

There is actually no such rules, this isn't world cup or ICC tournament. CSA would just need to be willing to pay for his flight/accomodation,ect and deal with the political fallout of flying in a white player when a african player was the designated replacement in the squad...

I volunteer to go over and kick both Vilas and Stian on the ankle so they can get sent home.

I suspect Stiaan might be a flat track bully. Something about him reminds me of Rob Key.

Selection policies need to be flexible to fit in with team requirements. While I understand that Vilas was selected for the Bangladesh tour when QdK was having bad form, and then missed game time because of rain, the situation and needs of the team have changed while in India. QdK has since found great form, IN INDIA, and we have a record to protect against probably the toughest test nation when playing on home soil. Stuff previois arrangements, they should have kept QdK. Absolutely no cricket reason for selecting Vilas.

QDK was dropped based on ODI form, he had one bad test vs bandgladesh as batsman. His keeping was still top notch and they should have showed more faith.

Didn't cover himself with glory against the Bangladeshi though, did he? That was probably a chance for him to make a claim for a play in tests.

That said I think given the performances of the others in India and his ODI form there he should be given a run.
