Why is a front line batsman like Elgar turning down a run on offer? So that he doesn't have to face the next over? It doesn't send a good message. It just shows the other team that he is afraid. There is no way he can chase down 300 with that approach.

To be fair, he has been pretty decent this tour compared to the others.

Every innings he has faced quite a lot of balls and looked like he wanted to fight to stay there.
