Two drops by Amla, and two clearly out not-out decisions by the umpires.

These "out not out" decisions are always bound to go against all teams visiting India. If it doesn't, said umpires will be mysteriously floored some dreaded disease. In so doing, travellers are forced to ensure decisions are no brainers.

Not a single comment this morning. Clearly, it's either too painful to watch/follow or you'd rather be spending time doing breakfast with your mom-in-law.

Boggles the mind that we could only get 1 wicket and allow them to score 95 runs. This 1st innings of theirs is now a bridge too far for us.

Abbott has five! The full ball swings into the right-hander, crashing into the back pad as Ishant was rooted deep in his crease. That's plumb. Abbott can be proud of this performance, 5 for 40 in 24.5 overs. He's staked a claim for a spot even when Philander and Steyn are fit

Doc: "How good has Abbott been?! 25 overs 40/5 and an economy well under 2! Cannot understand why he is always on the sidelines? Takes his chance every time he gets one..."

The sole highlight of the morning.

BRYDEN: "I have been crying out (to anyone that will listen) for Bavuma to get a chance... hopefully he backs up the confidence I have in him."

/conjures up strong anti-jinx spells

Just realised watching the highlights of the day that Amla said Bavuma will open. Talk about throwing him in the deep end!

It will be very hard for him to do worse then Stian so atleast he has that going for him ;)

"1987" : The last time an overseas pacer took a five-for at the Kotla - Walsh's 5 for 54. Abbott's 5 for 40 is only the 2nd such haul by a pacer at this venue since then.

They either don't play their much or it's usually served up as a dust bed.

Haha, my DSTV is on the fritz...channel 202 is out (along with a couple of others). Truly, I am blessed.

I haven't even bothered to fire up the Walka here at the office

Amla, much as I like the guy, is not the man to Captain our test side (nor AB - both of them are too damn nice and tactically naive)

The less said about our 'highly experienced' coach the better.

:(

McT, I'm too busy watching/updating 7s, channel hopping and ducking and diving the wife to make regular comments here! :p
