Jubair Hossain to Harmer, OUT, half-tracker from Jubair, sits up on its knees to be punished. Harmer loads up for a pull. Mominul at short leg is forced to duck for cover. But the ball sticks under his arm-pit. Lucky break for Bangladesh

SR Harmer c Mominul Haque b Jubair Hossain 9 (37b 0x4 0x6) SR: 24.32

:wtf:

Jubair Hossain to Bavuma, 1 run, Fighting fifty for Bavuma. First for Bavuma, first of the Test series. Loopy full toss, which is bunted to mid-on

1. Kudos to Bavuma. At least he shows that it can be done.
2. As for the rest, several should be hauled over the coals for their lack of intent and contribution!

Yoel: "Who would have thought that Bavuma would be the only SA batsman to reach 50. Well done !"

Exactly! Although Morkel could... Actually forget it. No point in believing for miracles in this innings.

Mohammad Shahid to Bavuma, 1 run, edged, carries and dropped. Full and outside off, Bavuma throws his bat at a drive and nicks it behind. Kayes spills it again

This will be forgiven and/or forgotten. He dropped Philander too.

The only thing we can hope for is that this drop proves to be expensive!

These two should just have a go now. No point in trying to see out the day. Have a dip and see how close you can get to 300. I'd imagine that with the new ball taken, attacking field placings will be in effect so there should be plenty of gaps. If you gonna swing, swing hard! :)

Mohammad Shahid to Morkel, no run, fractionally short on middle, Morne ventures deep in the crease and punches to long-on. Morne declines the single on offer

82.4
Mohammad Shahid to Bavuma, 1 run, room on offer outside off, slapped to deep cover. Bavuma pushes on for the second, Morne isn't interested

Haha, I wonder who the senior partner is in this partnership! :D

Innings over. Temba perishes trying to score some runs. Very well batted under the circumstances.

At least Steyn and Morkel will have 3 or 4 overs at the Bangladesh openers now. If we can nip off a wicket (or two) then we're right back in this.

South Africa 248 (83.4 ov) useless chops

will withdraw my words if they bowl out Bangladesh for less than 150.

Ten minutes for the innings break. 5 while our openers and captain dawdle with field settings. Sight screen moved. Maybe one over if they're lucky. :(

4:40pm: Plenty of pats and back-slaps for Mustafizur. From 136 for 1, South Africa have slumped to 248. Shahid probed away outside off and strung together maiden after maiden before ceding the stage to Mustafizur. He claimed three wickets in four balls and Jubair picked up two in three balls despite Bavuma's fighting fifty, his first in Tests.

Grrrr!
