Now to watch Steyn & Morkel smashed to all parts of the ground...

Edit: Who is this long haired girl bowling?

Thankfully this wretched day is over. Hopefully tomorrow will bring better fortunes.

So we have lunch with this:

11:30am What's happening here? QdK shoulders Tamim. Rossouw did that in the ODIs . Tamim doesn't look pleased. Hashim Amla intervenes and hoses down the skirmish. Steyn puts an arm on Tamim's shoulder as the players troop off for lunch.

So, we have a chaotic end to what started as a solid session. The openers did well to blunt the new ball before Stiaan van Zyl broke the stand in his first over, having Kayes stumped down leg. Three overs later, Mominul was undone by an arm-ball from Harmer. Mahmadullah has looked quite positive, though. Be back in about 40 minutes for the second session.

South Africa 248
Bangladesh 80/2 (30.0 ov)
Bangladesh trail by 168 runs with 8 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

And I see neither of the wickets to fall come from the 3 bowlers in the top 10. I suppose there is always hope for an unlikely collapse.

Is Duminy injured? Struggling to understand why van Zyl is still bowling while the pitch is turning

Bowling Stiaan van Zyl and Harmer in tandem kind of says that the so called top 3 aren't going to get wickets? Have they hoisted the white flag already?

In the meantime, well done to Tamim:

Harmer to Tamim Iqbal, 1 run, pushed through on off and turns away, check dabbed in front of the covers. Chittagong laps Tamim up. The local boy raises a fifty.

Chirag: "Philander had a superb start in the Test arena taking 100 wickets in just 19 test but it has been a downfall since then. He has taken only 19 wickets in last 10 test matches and hasn't looked threatening."

Interesting.

Interesting.

He has looked threatening here though. Even got a knick but it didn't carry because there just isn't any pace in this pitch now.

Now Elgar into the attack and still no Duminy

Bowling another part-time member of the team; Elgar. I suppose they're waiting for the new ball.

Elgar burgles a wicket

53.3
Elgar to Tamim Iqbal, OUT, Elgar gets rid of Tamim. Chittagong has been hushed into silence. The bowler, though, roars Nice, loopy ball, full-toss. Tamim goes low for a sweep and does not connect. The ball dips late and hits the leg stump. The 89-run stand has been broken.

Tamim Iqbal b Elgar 57 (129b 3x4 0x6) SR: 44.18

Final bleat from me (this side of Tea :p), 55 overs bowled in 2 sessions. 26 by spin and medium pace. The over-rate is appalling! Inept!
