Imagine companies realized 8 to 5 is some archaic time from when we didn't have electricity.
That you could run 24/7 and have people running things through out, not everyone runs well during the day.

For some professions, you can work 20% fewer hours and just be 5% less productive. Being well rested does wonders for my productivity and creativity. I find I can focus for longer periods of time, find solutions sooner and deliver overall higher quality of work after a Monday long weekend.

Before Henry Ford it was 6 days a week, then they changed it to 5 days a week. We've not had a change since then

For what I do, 4 days at 11 hours vs 5 days at 9 hours, 5 at 9 works better for me.

This just seems like an easy way to pay people less for the same amount of work. Or forego an inflation linked raise for a few years, or forever.

Since when do companies give a frying f*** about anything other than increasing profit while dropping costs. Your time? Costs money, they're about to do some cost cutting.

I've been trying to do this for a while and, being a partner in a small business, used to almost never daring to never turn down clients, it is not easy (for me). The phone rings, I have to answer. Have to check the emails.and respond or feel guilty. Maybe I need AA.
