No certainly not everybody, but if no effort whatsoever was made and you just sat idly by you can’t really complain too much.
So the ESKOM employees who arent actively seeking other employment who end up getting retrenched only have themselves to blame?

I wouldn’t say the blame lies with them.

But they really shouldn’t be surprised at all when it happens.

job losses are never nice.
Most of the people are usually just someone that went for an interview and got a job or a better one from where they were.

The ANC is so bad for this country, most of these people have no prospects of finding work soon.

Although I still think they should sell SAA and have someone else try and make a success of it, which will also include job losses .

If I were one of the staff to be retrenched, I would be pissed as the ONLY reason why I am losing my job is because others stole and looted. Now I am being forced to pay for it.
SAA have a bloated and inefficient workforce.
Those people should never have been hired in the first place. The stealing and looting was a relatively new development in a long period of un-profitability and government bailouts

Lets hope the unions do what they did with some of the mines, shut them down for good.

Both management and staff are playing brinkmanship, and Scopa in Parliament is not amused:

"Now Numsa and SACCA have promised the “mother of all strikes” from Friday as its 3,000 members representing staff from check-in counter staff to cabin crew and many employees in between and at SAA Technical down tools from 4am in support of an 8% wage settlement – and job security for the next three years. You don't make sense

I'll try and keep it simple just for you then..

If you were a BEE cadre working for Eskom you have immunity against being fired.. i.e job security for life, laughing all the way to the bank kinda thing.

If you were a BEE cadre working for SAA your ass'll be fired since they wanna save some money & there's nothing you can do about it.

Boom! The cadres, she's not equal anymore. SAA cadres clearly are a class below Eskom cadres.

Geddit now?

Snooty conjecture. Try another way. Post something less juvenile.
