South Africa's new TV licence law published

The Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, has published the South African Broadcasting Corporation SOC Ltd Bill for public comment.

Notably, the Bill has kept the SABC's TV licensing scheme rather than adopting a household levy, and it does not expand the requirement of a TV licence beyond buying television sets.

Wha ha ha ha ha    Thought DSTV said they will not be doing it. What now?

Wasn't there some minister a few years ago who said that if the ANC wants something, they will simply change or make new laws and get what they want?

So they want to redefine propery rights for a 2x R265 fine?

So if I have a projector that I connect to laptops etc to watch sport, movies, series and so on. I will need a TV licence?
Unbelievable!

Lol, Netflix will just give them the middle finger.

So an inspector rocks up to my house, I'm at work therefore I do not answer. Are they then going to get a warrant, bust down my boundary gate, front gate and front door and enter my home to determine I do not have a TV license?

I’d be curious to know if an inspector has ever pitched up at a residence before.

Considering this is the SABC, doubt it highly.
SABC = barely any work + lots of complaining + striking for higher salaries + corruption beyond any known measurement metric.
