R3.2 billion gone with nothing to show for it

A turnaround plan and R3.2 billion from the government have not been enough to rescue the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), which has become technically insolvent with no clear plan to profitability.

The SABC has been in decline for years, characterised by financial instability, allegations of corruption, and its inability to keep up with new technology.

I wish TV manufacturers would care enough to make TV sets without receivers so this legislation is not an issue.
Samsung does make 'Smart Monitors', which offer 4K, built-in speakers and the ability to load Smart Apps for streaming content, but they are WAY more expensive, when compared to conventional consumer-grade TV sets that do have built-in tuners... :(

Smaller, more expensive and usually less features.
Show me a good 85" panel I can put a android TV box on and watch Netflix, F1 TV etc on and costs the same as other "TV's".
Its almost as if its intentional.

Im surprised it didnt happen sooner, as soon as the money hit their bank accounts,
Bentley and Dubai mansion time, Comrades, Whiskey pallet load, and overseas Holiday time for the useless Human Filth.

no wonder those fsxkers shill for the Iranians and terrorists all over the world,
somebody needs to pay for the useless breeders.

Samsung and LG (and others) make Digital Signage displays that don't have TV tuners, and come in a variety of sizes. They have standard inputs that you can plug a TV Box in to.

They are more expensive though, because the panels they use are rated for 16+ hour on time per day, rather than the panels used in consumer TV's which are rated at 8 hours. The logic boards also tend to be more robust to handle more extreme environments, driving up the cost.

But they are still cheaper than a typical large "desktop monitor".

I've never really understood why resellers never sell them to the public.

How will the SABC pay Sentech once their "grace period" runs out? What's going to happen if they don't receive another bailout in the next month or two?
