High hopes for the SABC

Despite reporting losses each year since the 2014/15 financial year, the SABC says it plans to return to profitability by March 2028, when it expects to report a profit of R907 million.

It has significantly reduced its losses since it reported a R1.13-billion loss in the 2022/23 financial year. It expects to report a loss of R590 million for the current financial year.

Plenty of plans, never any action. Also, this thing is beyond salvage. It's worse than a code 3 write off
Well I'd argue the halving of their losses is action.

Still I doubt they can turn this thing around. It's so poorly managed.

You definitely need to be high to believe there's any hope for the SABC.

Propaganda. Peddled as "news".

They still owe us taxpayers R3.2bn so nope, they are far away from being "profitable"

Proof is in the pudding if they can sustain the action.

Just takes one new cadre at the helm to fuk it all up again.

Part of its plan involves leveraging the SABC+ streaming service, which the public broadcaster says is yet to be monetised
I look forward to MTN/Vodacom demanding that the SABC pay them for streaming Isidingo over their networks
