SABC radio scraps separate sports bulletins

The SABC has announced that it will remove sports bulletins from all of its radio stations in an effort to cut costs, according to a report by City Press.

This has resulted in more than 30 sports bulletin readers at the company facing retrenchment unless their stations are able to motivate for their retainment.

So what exactly do they want people to tune into for? Just shut the sabc down. They're not interested in providing good content, just interested in making money dissapear

How can the decision not affect quality when they're getting rid of people with knowledge on the subject end replacing them with script readers?

It will affect quality, but which company has ever said, "we are retrenching people and we apologise in advance to the low levels of service you are going to receive since we'll be working with limited or inexperienced staff"?

It's all PR and they have to say it.

Does anyone here know the emergency broadcast frequency?
In SA, there isn't an emergency broadcast. Even the cellphone companies never got onboard...

Koeberg has sirens, but that's about it...
