The SABC will receive R2.1bn from Treasury on Monday October 7, 2019, Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Stella Ndabeni Abrahams said.

The minister on Friday briefed media on the funding allocation to the national broadcaster, which recently reported a loss of R482m for the year ended March 31, 2019.

The SABC has sought a R3.2bn cash injection from Treasury, but has had to meet eight preconditions before any approval can be granted.

The SABC has only met five of the eight conditions. Treasury has agreed to allocate R2.1bn to the broadcaster. The remaining R1.1bn will be approved when the other conditions are met, Ndabeni-Abrahams said.

More to follow.

This has to got to be most horrible abuse of money in this presidency. Just shut down SABC and use it as a prison.

I don't know about others but I tell you the incompetence at luthuli is astounding. They sent me a chicken takeaway knowing fully well that I am a vegetarian. As you can see, I have complained 2 posts above. Others probably happy with chicken.

I am waiting for the next adjustment to certain taxes on products that only south africans who are already tax payers would actually buy.

They will have to find an additional route towards more taxes without affecting the 90% super poor south africans in order to retain their votes.
