Nope, the SABC teamed up with Sentech to bid for a Pay-TV license, but withdrew their application last week Monday, the SABC's reason for withdrawing being that the SABC thinks it can get more money by extorting the Pay-TV licensees instead of competing as one of the Pay-TV licensees:

SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago said the broadcaster pulled out because it wanted to position itself as a content provider to other players.
