SABC wants 70% happy news

The SABC’s acting chief operating officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng, has quantified how much sunshine news he wants in the corporation’s bulletins

I'm ok with happy news... dog knows we all need it.

The problem is that SABC is 90% government bull****.... no one wants to see that.

"Jacob Zuma was talking in parliament and even the sleeping people went home...bla bla"

That's just 'gay' :D

Positive news is generated by people doing positive things, and while many great people exist in this country, current corrupt government makes it extremely difficult to see anything in a positive light.

Damn no sport then as there are always some supporter who will get bad news.
With one exception, when the blue bulls loose, that's always good news no mater who you are!

I don't have a problem with good news, as long as the amount of actual news isn't affected. The issue here is that they have defined a target as to the amount of good news to be broadcast, and that is a problem.

If this means the little light-heated snippets at the end of bulletins will become the bulk of what the SABC considers "news"...

Let's be fair, the majority of these light-heated snippets are about [sym]pathetic people/animals/etc achieving mediocre things that is supposed to make you feel all appreciative.

Just another way of saying...Keep the public uninformed. To be lulled into a fake Utopia based on bull shyte
