SABC will broadcast AFCON and other CAF tournaments

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has secured the rights to broadcast the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023) and the rest of the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF’s) events for the 2024 season.

AFCON 2023 is set to take place in Ivory Coast from 13 January 2024 until 11 February 2024.

In an apparent jab at MultiChoice, the SABC said it was making the content available to all South Africans for free and with no “uncompetitive” platform blockages.
For once "well done SABC!"

You the taxpayer are paying for the tournaments with SABC bailouts.
Why should you pay for the matches anyway.

Multichoice probably laughing.

Not really, it shows how fked up and backwards multichoice is, they will charge ANYONE else a bucket load when they have the rights, but when someone else gets them, they aren't willing to pay them for what they charge everyone else for the rights. Imagine if SABC was run properly and able to out bid supersport every time, how quickly they would cry foul, how, it is anti competitive, and not in the best interests of consumers blah, blah.....

How do they say in afrikaans.
Multichoice kan n vet pit seer gaan suig......

Hopefully those interested in watching it, are those paying their TV license. Hopefully SABC can get some decent advertising revenue from this event.

Not interested in the slightest.
