More sabotage uncovered at Eskom's Hendrina power station

Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan says the incident of cable theft at the Hendrina Power Station by people suspected to work at the plant is, along with several other incidents, the reason that millions of South Africans have had to sit in the dark this week.

Gordhan said this when he tabled the department's Budget Vote at a plenary of the National Assembly on Friday.

Anyone involved in this should be made an example of, but thanks to our incompetent government and everyone up their asses, nothing will happen.

upside, all the sabotage crap is now coming to the fore... clear as day light to all to see, for the most loadshedding has been orchestrated -- now to to lance the boil, get rid of the intrenched feeder network within Eskom... push back there will be,

Gordhan said the acts of “the greedy, the corrupt, the bully, the counter-revolutionary set back our progress as a democracy and stop us from becoming a caring nation”.
It really annoys me when the ANC use terms like "counter-revolutionary" as though they are still fighting against the apartheid government.

Firstly, these people are not trying to unseat the ANC from power and return us to an apartheid government. Heck, these very same thieves likely vote ANC to keep the broken system they are taking advantage of in power.

Secondly, the ANC has been in power for nearly 30 years. They are the entrenched government. If anything, we need just a standard new revolution to unseat their ineptitude. It isn't a counter-revolution .... just a normal revolution to get rid of a corrupt failing government.

Lastly, I'm pretty sure if given 1/2 the chance, the ANC would jump at the opportunity to turn South Africa into a Communist country, or worse, a dictatorship. They don't get to be the bastion of democracy when everything they do screams communism/socialism/dictatorship.

Lol, sabotage. And the reason we ever got to this stage? How is it that sabotage exists now vs the previous 30 years?

Terrorism.
Hit them hard.
Yup

Hendrina Power Station is an NKP, get the SANDF to protect the asset and shoot the bloody terrs on site and dont stop doing so, and if they run, hunt them down. Stop playing games around national security, and strategic NKPs. Maybe it will mean personnel attrition in ESKOM as well (because some of their employees are in cahoots with criminal syndicates/saboteurs/terrorist...) too bad.

SA has to stop pussyfooting around these issues. Before organized crime and terrorists dictate to all of society here. And criminal/terrorist elements inside the state system rewrite national laws to protect their criminal acts and terrorism while they also still get paid by the SA tax payer.

Only way to deal with terrorism is to wipe them out, you dont negotiate with them in any way. When you allow them free range they WILL overrun a nation with their crime and coercion of society.

the report found that the entity’s CEO Andre De Ruyter implemented “racist” policies targeting the black working-class communities who bore the burden of the electricity crisis.

“Under the De Ruyter administration, an apartheid-style collective punishment strategy began: ‘load reduction.’

What a complete load of carp! Apartheid, my bottom! I guess that is because Andre De Ruyter is a whitie and the "victims" are black.

I feel sorry for the people who pay and suffer outages because of illegal connections or the municipality not paying ESKOM.

The lack of fear for the law and entitlement are the causes of all this k@k and we all know why.
