Somehow it wouldn't surprise me.

Then again election time is near.

Shocking? I'm not sure which one he accepted, but if I remember correctly, it was a yes I will, no I won't game for over a year leading up to the whole thingy. Especially with the arms inspectors.
Sometimes people will do anything to make America look bad...
that's not to say I actually have a clue who is telling the truth. Therefore I won't entertain either side. Corruption all over.

If Saddam was willing to accept the ultimatum, he could have announced it himself, why send someone else on trips around the world to try get to CNN (of all things) to get the message out, just call Bush up.

Sounds like bull to me

Just another muslim rumour ... like the one circulating that Israel warned their citizens about 9/11

Hmmm the silly season is here. Remember the Bush memo in 2004.

Sounds like liberals manipulated by tyrants again  . They fall for this kind of stuff all the time. Or do they?

While Hugo Chavez is the latest despot to lend support to the Democrats:sick:.

Also Kerry has stuck his foot in it.

If I remember correctly, the word that Suddam used when he was pulled from his hold when hiding from the Americans was, "I am ready to negotiate now"

This was said at the end of major conflict.

He lied to the inspectors non stop before that.

Ajaks... um... yeah no comment. You are seriously not worth it. I really think you should look up the word LIBERAL, and find out what it actually means.

Liberalism is an ideology, philosophical view, and political tradition which holds that liberty is the primary political value. Liberalism has its roots in the Western Enlightenment, but the term now encompasses a diversity of political thought.

Broadly speaking, liberalism emphasizes individual rights. It seeks a society characterized by freedom of thought for individuals, limitations on power, especially of government and religion, the rule of law, free public education, the free exchange of ideas, a market economy that supports relatively free private enterprise, and a transparent system of government in which the rights of all citizens are protected. In modern society, liberals favor a liberal democracy with open and fair elections, where all citizens have equal rights by law and an equal opportunity to succeed.

So basically you have issues with people been free?

He said he had no WMD. The inspectors found no WMD. The US/UK invasion force has found no WMD. Clearly, there were no WMD.

So who lied? Or were we so conditioned by the US/UK claims that Saddam was lying, that we would rather believe their pro-war propaganda rather than the simple facts?

Saddam complied with UN demands right up to the day of the invasion. The invasion of Iraq was an illegal act of agression. It should be Bush and Blair facing a war crime tribunal, but history only ever favours the victors, the strong and/or the wealthy.

He told his generals a different story. Plus he has a strange way of saying no.

Funny I came across this just before I read your post.

He did? Proof please.

According to who?

That is true but the war isn't won yet.

Detour off topic

@W1z4rd

That's what you proclaim. In theory maybe but reality is a different story.

The Serbian conflict was similar. Clinton made up his mind to bomb and invade. Milosovic tried to talk but the yanks were having none of it. They made the conditions so onerous the Serbs could never accept. They were tricked by the words and a war erupted.
